The Council on Recovery’s 2018 Fall Luncheon with Alice Cooper was the 36th Luncheon  in the The Waggoners Foundation Speaker Series. Since 2000, the Waggoners Foundation along with, more recently, the Wayne Duddlesten Foundation, have underwritten the production of a Spring and Fall Luncheons. These luncheons have raised millions of dollars over the past 18 years. The Luncheon have been headlined by some of the biggest celebrities of their era, each of whom has entertained and inspired thousands with their recovery stories.

Iconic Hollywood star, Rob Lowe, helped The Council on Recovery’s Fall Luncheon exceed all expectations in terms of size, money raised, and rave reviews from attendees. Nearly 1,270 enthusiastic Council supporters filled the Hilton Americas grand ballroom on October 20th to hear the celebrated actor, author, and producer tell his personal story of recovery from alcoholism and addiction. In the process, he helped The Council raise more than $600,000 to fund its critical programs and services. Rob Lowe - Fall Luncheon Speaker

The Council on Recovery announces that Rob Lowe will be the keynote speaker at its Fall Luncheon, Friday, October 20, 2017, at the Hilton Americas—Houston Hotel. This is the 35th Annual Luncheon in the Waggoners Foundation Speaker Series and is presented by the Wayne Duddlesten Foundation. Proceeds from the Luncheon will fund The Council’s programs that help individuals and families affected by alcoholism, drug abuse, other addictions, and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Rob Lowe began his national acting career in the 1979 television series, A New Kind of Family. In his rise to fame that followed, Lowe has become one of Hollywood’s most highly-acclaimed triple threats – as an actor, author, and producer.
