As a major metropolitan city, we Houstonians must continue to develop our resources and infrastructure to keep pace with our city’s growth, ensuring our economic and social well-being.
The impact of potential savings of treatment cannot be underestimated – alcohol and drug abuse costs Texas $25 billion each year. Corporate partnerships are an important part of our work through education, services and accessibility to cost-effective and compassionate treatment.

A native Houstonian who loved the outdoors, Charles “Chuck” Warner Moody was a gregarious soul who had many friends. In his early twenties, he established and managed a successful mountain wilderness program at his family’s West Texas ranch which served a large number of the state’s foster youth population.
Despite his lively sense of humor, Chuck struggled valiantly with addiction. However, he found great support and care within the walls of The Council on Recovery. His trademark greeting of “Who loves you baby” was known to many. Tragically, Chuck was planning his engagement for the first time at age 44 when he lost his life in a car accident near Galveston.
Make a gift in memory of Chuck to help individuals and families afford treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
The Council on Recovery is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions. We believe that the key ingredient to running a successful organization is maintaining complete transparency in all our dealings.
