At The Council on Recovery, we believe recovery is a powerful and ongoing process of growth and transformation. It is a journey through which individuals strengthen their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and pursue their full potential. Recovery Support Services are designed to walk alongside individuals as they define and create their own path to lasting recovery.
Our services are provided by certified Recovery Support Peer Specialists (Recovery Coaches) who bring lived experience, professional training, and a deep commitment to supporting others. Each Specialist has navigated their own recovery journey and understands firsthand the courage, resilience, and determination it takes to overcome challenges and move forward.
Providing one-on-one help to those on the road to recovery.
Our Recovery Coaches foster relationships rooted in respect, partnership, and possibility. They work one-on-one with participants to identify strengths, clarify values and set meaningful, attainable goals to improve their lives. Together, they focus on whole-person wellness – supporting emotional, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual growth.
Through individualized support, Recovery Coaches help participants build confidence, expand their capacity and strengthen connections within Houston’s vibrant recovery community. They provide encouragement, hope, accountability, and access to resources, honoring each person as the expert of their own life.
This project is supported by Texas Targeted Opioid Response, a public health initiative operated by BWTX through federal funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant award HHS001640100001.
